Background
Outlook
With
the rapidly expanding technical innovations in software
and equipment, it
is an exciting and inspiring time
to be an artist; and I feel lucky to have had classical
art training as well as the opportunity
to achieve a Bachelors degree in
VIsual Arts with an emphasis on Digital
Imaging at U.M.B.C.
I
feel I have the unique capablity to apply classical reasoning
to artistic challenges
and at the same time embrace new
ways of solving problems. Don't be fooled by
my strong traditional art skills. I
BUILT my own computer, and
this girl knows how
to flash her own bios. Why not?
Lets not forget that Leonardo Da Vinci not only painted portraits,
he designed weapons for the Medici family. His is one
of the first designs for
a helicopter....I am not saying that I am Leonardo, but
classical training
is based on reason as well as
inspiration. I am sure if Da Vinci were alive today
he would have embraced the internet
and all the latest technology!
"Be
always searching, never settle to do something you've
done before. Always look for the
unexpected ...you can have no formulas for anything, search
constantly. Don't learn how to do things, keep on
inquiring how. You must keep up an attitude
of continuous study and so develop yourself.
I don't know a better definition of
an artist than one who is eternally curious."
-
Charles Hawthorne
I
am open to all new opportunities - I am not afraid to
try something new, or to be different.
Personal
Born
and raised in Florida; both my parents worked at the (then)
Kennedy Space center. Besides
art, I enjoy reading, gardening, and vegetarian cooking, though
not necessarily simultaneously. I
would travel more if I could. Anywhere! I am fond
of animals: as a teenager I had
a pet chicken named Pamela ( she would ride
on the handlebars of my bike), and
a pig named Arthur. Arthur was cool. Much smarter
than a dog. He was trained to heel
in one day ( try that with most puppies! ). We wandered
in the Florida woods together. Later I setted in Baltimore
to first study fine
art. and ultimately pursued a degree
in Digital Arts. What can I say, I fell in love with animation,
3D, the works....and I still practice the classical arts.
Honest,
responsible, thoughtful, loyal, and humorously inclined. Enjoys
seeing others succeed and am happy enabling
others to do well. Though this art site is for the
most part All About Me, in person I am much quieter. Usually.
